Pre-Care Instructions
Please review the following pre-care guidelines carefully before your permanent makeup procedure. Proper preparation helps ensure optimal results and a smoother healing process.
Eyeliner
Antihistamines such as Benadryl may be taken before your appointment to help reduce swelling, calm nerves, and minimize watery eyes. Watery eyes can dilute the pigment being implanted during the procedure.
Do not wear false eyelashes.
Do not wear mascara on the day of your procedure.
Do not wear contact lenses during the procedure or for 24 hours after.
Do not dye or perm lashes for 2 days prior.
Do not use an eyelash curler on the day of your procedure.
Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for 7 days prior to your appointment.
Bring sunglasses to wear home, as eyes may be light sensitive after the procedure.
Eyebrow
Do not remove unwanted hair, including tweezing or waxing, prior to your appointment.
Do not dye brows for 7 days prior.
Do not have electrolysis performed on the brow area for 7 days prior.
Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for 7 days prior to your procedure.
Lips
Do not wear lipstick on the day of your procedure.
If you have had any lip surgery, consult your physician before scheduling a permanent makeup lip procedure.
Lip fillers (such as collagen or Restylane) typically require a minimum 3-month waiting period.
Lip implants or surgical incisions should be fully healed — usually about 1 year — before tattooing.
If you are prone to cold sores, an antiviral prescription is required.
Medication is usually started 2 days before and continued 5 days after the procedure.
Common prescriptions include Zovirax, Famvir, or Valtrex.
Please be sure to review and complete all required medical disclosure information prior to your appointment.
